Understanding Medicare
Medicare is a federal health insurance program primarily for individuals aged 65 and older, but it also covers some younger individuals with disabilities or specific health conditions. It consists of different parts that provide various coverage options.
Medicare Parts
Part A (Hospital Insurance): Covers inpatient hospital stays, skilled nursing facility care, hospice, and some home health care.
Part B (Medical Insurance): Covers outpatient care, doctor visits, preventive services, and some home health care.
Part C (Medicare Advantage): A private insurance plan that includes coverage from both Part A and Part B, often with additional benefits.
